Dr. Marilyn Obiña Balagtas
PNU, Manila
It was another hectic day for us. on the opening, i led a short prayer for spiritual enhancements and guidance, then, it was Dr. Balagtas who swallowed the day for us. the topic was, at first, the authentic assessment, in which she explained the difference between the assessment, measurement and evaluation. She has a lot of ideas to share in this topic. after the lecture, there was an individual output for the authentic assessment.... then another exciting topic was the performance-based assessment, an output centered assessment that touches almost all the discipline in all subject matters.........she discussed the importance of this form of assessment than the traditional one. output: rubrics for the performance based assessment..she stipulated further the kinds of rubrics and showed us some samples of portfolios............one thing i really learned from this session is...by performing series of observed actions with mastery and the essential of rubrics to the learning of our students.........its great!!! its worth the experience........
